business continuity and risk mitigation

Tecan’s business continuity and risk-mitigation programme is based on the integrated OHS&E management system (at major hazard control level, ISO14001-certified and work in accordance with  OHSAS18001). It focuses on the most important areas: fire-risk reduction, purchasing and data.

ISO9001 quality

To ensure quality Tecan is certified with the latest version of the ISO9001 quality management system.

This means that during the whole production and inspection process, the products are traceable. The quality of our processes and products is continuously monitored by:

  • An in-house laboratory for analysing the chemical processes;
  • A metrology department with state-of-the-art equipment to check product geometry;
  • An inspection department to check the visual aspects of the products – automated where possible.

We use the Six Sigma method for continuous improvement of the quality of processes and a continuous training programme for our operators.

fit for business

Tecan meets the requirements to be fully registered on the JOSCAR supplier accreditation register.

JOSCAR is a collaborative tool used by the aerospace, defence and security industry to act as a single repository for pre-qualification and compliance information. Using JOSCAR can determine if a supplier is “fit for business”.

supply chain

Prior to the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, Tecan performed extensive due diligence in order to maintain continuity of supply. We would like to reassure our customers that we assessed potential risks and have taken into consideration the following elements: Political, Economic / Financial, Legal and Regulatory, Commercial and Operational aspects of trade.

Measures are in place to meet possible eventualities including a comprehensive set of contingencies throughout our supply chain such as local stocking. Our logistics functions are highly experienced in shipping globally and are tightly aligned to the regulatory requirements.

Tecan continues to conduct business as usual and will assess risks on an ongoing basis, communicating with our customers as appropriate.

continuous improvement

This is a set of techniques and tools we employ for continuous improvement of the quality of processes and a continuous training programme for our operators.

Six Sigma strategies seek to improve manufacturing quality by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimising variability in manufacturing and business processes. This is done by using empirical and statistical quality management methods and by employing Six Sigma experts. Each Six Sigma project follows a defined methodology and has specific value targets, such as reducing pollution or increasing customer satisfaction.
